Plăci Arduino compatibile[modificare]
Deși desigul hardware și software este la dispoziția oricui sub licențe copyleft, dezvoltatorii au cerut ca denumirea Arduino, să fie folosită exclusiv de produsele oficiale.
Ca rezultat al convențiilor de protecție a mărcii Arduino, un grup de utilizatori Arduino, au creat o plăcuță derivată din Arduino Diecimila, numită Freeduino. Numele Freeduino nu este o marcă comercială și poate fi folosită în orice scop.[65]
Alte produse comerciale, compatibile Arduino, au evitat denumirea Arduino folosind nume cu terminația -duino.[65]
